Chris Rollins

Podiatry

Chris graduated in Podiatry from Curtin University with academic distinction and later completed a Post Grad in Podiatry specialization, which included biomechanics, paediatrics and surgery. Chris has worked for many years in podiatry education both as a tutor at Curtin in clinical practice and biomechanics or assisting with student visits to his practice, which he started in Victoria Park in 1981. His practice also included sessional work as head of Podiatry at Hollywood Hospital and later as advisory Podiatrist to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for many years. Chris has also studied “myofascial medicine” and acupuncture and helped pioneer some of these techniques in Podiatric practice.

Chris has an interest in many facets of practice treating lower limb and foot injuries in dancers, skaters and runners and has worked closely with the EFFC and the armed forces. He has had the opportunity to critically evaluate sports and industrial footwear and has an advisory capacity with a number of organizations including the Australian Fencing Association and the Perth City Council. He continues to do considerable work with a range of children’s/adolescent foot related problems and maintains strong interest in gerontology.

Chris shares the meditation and martial arts interests with Ann and still performs as a Jazz musician, which he has done since the early 70’s.
